You might be disappointed to see that, despite your best efforts, you didn’t get to the top of the list on Snapchat’s story leaderboard.
No worries- there are still things you can do to better your chances of getting more views and keep high rankings!
Check out these five tips for snapping like a pro.
Post more often!
This is probably the most important rule of all.
Don’t just post once a day and hope that it gets some views.
You need to publish at least 2-3 times per day and post something interesting and new each time.
Use filters!
So, you’ve tried taking a picture with Snapchat’s new bokeh effect, which creates a depth-of-field effect on your photo?
Maybe you’ve even taken some fun ones using the selfie-focused effects such as ‘Nostalgic’ or ‘Love.
Want even more filters? Here are some that you might not have discovered yet.
this is the same as the basic red, green, yellow, blue & purple color filters
Film Glamour : makes your pictures look old-fashioned or sepia-toned
Film Normal : gives your pictures a cool black and white effect with an added graininess to it so it doesn’t look so monotone.
Film Retro : like the above, but with a “retro” look.

: Superimposes a ‘glow’ over your photo, making it look like someone has taken a picture of you on an old Polaroid camera.
Nudy : make yourself or your subject less dressed using the “X” tool in the corner.
Select the area you don’t want to see and…
Voila! No clothin’, baby! Keep in mind that some people find this offensive so use at your own risk.
*Note: This only works on iOS devices
Looking to spice up your snaps?
This awesome photo trick gives your pictures a cool retro look.
It’s called the “Grayscale” effect and it basically inverts the whole image so that each pixel is in black and white.
Be original!
This tip might seem obvious but it can help if you consider these two things:
Do you have enough followers to make people take notice of what you’re posting?
Can your snap tell a story that people want to follow?
If not, then maybe try something else that appeals to the majority of Snapchat users.
Best case scenario, consider taking photos in an interesting place or using an interesting filter when they’re available.
Check the stats!
Want to make sure that you have enough followers?
There are a few ways to find out how many people are following you on Snapchat.
The best way is to go to the “leaderboard” section of Snapchat’s app,
which can be found by swiping down from the top of your screen under the “4” at the bottom.
This section shows you how well you’ve done in terms of views and what categories your snaps have been placed into.
The more popular your snap is, the better your chances of being liked by other users
since they’ll spontaneously start following you because they’re interested in what you’re doing.
One thing to note is that if you’re using a third party application, such as SnapStats ,
there’s a good chance that it may be counted in the leaderboard.
With this said, when you sign in from Snapchat’s official app, there is a way to prevent your stats from being counted.
Click on your profile picture in the top right corner of the screen and select “Ghost Mode” which is under settings.
Click on “turn on”, but keep in mind that this will only disable your info being tracked within Snapchat’s app, so it will still be visible when using a third party application!

Follow people who follow you!
*Note: This isn’t super important but it does help with promoting your posts. You can only really do this in Snapchat’s “following” section.
Here, tap on your profile picture in the top right corner and choose “Follow” from the drop down list.
You’ll notice that you’ll be able to follow other people who also use Snapchat and they’ll be able to follow you back!
Go through the list and follow people based on what interests them or how compelling their snaps are,
but make sure you don’t get followed back by someone who’s a follower of yours already!how to see other snapchatters who viewed your story
Here’s an interesting tip to keep in mind
if you’re planning to snapchat with a friend or have followers whose followers are looking for people to follow on Snapchat,
then you might want to consider posting stories that are related to the contents of the snap.
If you post content about whatever it is your friends are talking about, they might share it with their friends!
It’s not exactly clear what kinds of stories get more visibility on the app but it definitely seems like something that makes a difference.
