Sports Marketing jobs and salary
Sports marketing is a relatively young and still developing industry,
which means it’s an industry where there are lots of opportunities for individuals looking to enter the field.
Just by taking a look at salaries and employment levels, you can see how popular this field is.
Sports marketing employs nearly 3% of the total workforce in America and is projected to grow exponentially within the next decade!
This means that there are lots of jobs available for those with skills in sports marketing.
Here are some insight into what you can expect from potential employers as well as some information on California’s highest paying jobs related to sports.
Sports marketers can expect high salaries.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the median salary
for sports marketing employees is $64,290 which is around $45,000 less than the median national wage.
However, there are some benefits to working in sports marketing that make many people want to stay in this field for years.
The most significant benefit of working in sports marketing is that there are so many available jobs across so many different industries.
It doesn’t matter if you’re interested in working within the sports world or elsewhere; chances are you can find a job doing your favorite thing!
This is due to how incredibly popular sports has become in recent years. In the book, Sports and the American Social Order:
From the Civil War to the Global Age , author William G. Bowen states that by 2008,
just over half of Americans said that they watched at least one sporting event per week!
This popularity has created a booming industry full of jobs and career opportunities.
So how do you go about finding such a lucrative job?
Well, if you don’t already have experience under your belt, you want to start off in an entry level job within your field.
For example, if you’re interested in becoming a sports marketing agent,
start off by looking for an entry level job as an assistant agent working with agents
who already have experience and even representation under their belts.
Although this may not be directly within your field of interest, it’s essential to getting your foot in the door with an agency.
Once you’ve done this, you’ll be able to prove yourself by working hard and then eventually apply for a job as an agent yourself (most likely).
With the almost unlimited number of jobs available within sports marketing,
there’s no wonder why many people are taking note of our current economic situation and looking into sports marketing as a possible step up their economic ladder.
Whether you’re interested in being a Sports Marketing Agent or Sports Marketing Analyst ,
there are often numerous benefits that come along with these high paying jobs.
For example, you could be getting health insurance, paid time off, and even a pension plan which will add up to a substantial pay raise.
Other benefits include: flexible schedules, team members who are compassionate and don’t mind the long hours,
the opportunity to work in a field that seems to never stop growing and opportunities within your industry for advancement!
At the end of the day, you’ll want to do whatever it takes in order to get into sports marketing.
However, in order to do so you’ll want to identify and pursue that specific career.
The best way to do so is to gain experience and start off in an entry level job.
This may require you to work outside of your desired field of interest but that’s perfectly fine
as it will put you on the right track into the sports marketing industry!
Once you’ve secured a job, you can prove yourself and gain valuable experience that will help lead to your success within the industry!
