Ghost is a free and open source blogging platform

Ghost is a free and open source blogging platform that advertises itself as being “simple, intuitive, and beautiful.”

It was initially written in Node.js, but is now available for many different languages to run on any computer system with JavaScript support including Linux, macOS, Windows, FreeBSD, Solaris. To display blog entries, it uses Semantic UI which aids in semantics .

Ghost is simple to install, but requires users to have some knowledge of configuring a web server

A notable feature of Ghost is that it does not store any data on the publisher’s computer. Instead, it stores and processes the data on a server and only redirects the user to view it.

This avoids privacy issues where users run personal blogs with no privacy settings.

While it is possible to run a blog using locally hosted software, most people prefer to use a hosting service such as GitHub Pages , WordPress .com , or Ghost .io .

Ghost has over 250 contributors who have contributed code or documentation to the project according to GitHub statistics.

About ghost (blogging platform) :

1. Ghost is about blogging, not running your blog on Ghost –

But it is recommended that if you decide to use Ghost, you will need to run your blog on some kind of server.

2. Ghost is not just another static blogging platform –

It was built for full-featured clients, and while static blogs are still supported, they are not its core focus.

Yes, you can use the basic features of Ghost without needing to run any kind of server at all, but running blogs on Ghost is like running your blog on GitHub Pages : it helps you realize the full potential of the technology. (The technical term for this is “stabilizing” or “monetizing”.)

3. Ghost is open source –

If you want to, you can see the source code for Ghost, and contribute to it. Ghost’s open source nature also means that anyone can fork and re-work it in whatever way they choose.

Of course, the code will only be in good standing if it’s maintained by its original author.
