Places to stop on a Florida road trip

Places to stop on a Florida road trip

Florida is a popular destination for summer vacations and day trips.

To help you plan your journey, I compiled this list of places to stop on a Florida road trip.

Did you know that there is an interactive map with hundreds of places to stop and attractions near the major highways in Florida?

Click the “Explore” button from the main menu and watch as your map loads with points of interest!

For more detailed information about locations, use the “Browse” tab at the top.  Go ahead, try it out!

The best part is that these points of interest are automatically incorporated into your itinerary when you’re signed in to see them on Google Maps app or Waze app.

The list below contains places that may be worth stopping on your day trip or vacation to Florida.

Places

All places on this list are the locations of points of interest. I am not endorsing any specific business, service or product

The purpose of this post is to get people thinking about where they should stop when traveling from point A to point B.

This post is meant as a study guide for those planning their vacation.

I do not guarantee that any businesses discussed in this list will still be operational after the date mentioned in this article.

Furthermore, I am not affiliated with Google or Waze in any way, nor was I paid by them to make this post.

I am just sharing what I have learned in the hopes that others will benefit.

This map uses a custom tile style that is not available on almost all mobile devices (i.e., Android, iOS, Kindle Fire) or desktop computers (i.e., Chrome, Firefox).

This may result in errors such as missing title, location label and a few other things I’ve run into.  I will eventually add more zoom-in/zoom-out options for those who use mobile and desktop browsers.

Also, the “Browse” tab does not work with mobile browsers (not even Safari).  The “Explore” tab works with Android and iOs.

The “Local Scout” feature does not work on mobile. If you’re interested in learning more or requesting a pest, please see this post .

If you experience problems with the map or do not receive an accurate location marker when clicking the marker, try reloading the page!
